Calling all fantasy fans!
We hope you’ve recovered from World Fantasy Con last weekend. We’re keeping on the fantasy theme with this month’s BUMPER Geeks picks – Moon’s Artifice, the kick off to Tom Lloyd’s spectacular new fantasy series, and The Path of Anger, Antoine Rouaud’s stunning debut.
Following the success of the Twilight Reign series, Tom Lloyd’s newest epic starts with a bang. Narin has the chance of promotion after an unremarkable career, to be a Lawbringer in the Imperial City. To be a guardian of the Emperor’s laws and a bastion for justice is his dream, but it’s come at a very bad time; a chance encounter drags him into a plot of gods and monsters, spies and assassins, accompanied by a grief-stricken young woman, an old man haunted by the ghosts of his past and an assassin with no past.
To save his own life and those of untold thousands, Narin must understand the key to it all – Moon’s Artifice, the poison that could destroy an empire.
The Path of Anger
Dun-Cadal has been drinking his life away for years. He’s done with politics, with adventure, and with people, after being betrayed by his friends, the loss of his apprentice, who saved his life on the battlefield .
But people aren’t finished with him – not yet. Viola is a young historian looking for the last Emperor’s sword, and her search not only brings her to Dun-Cadal, it’s also going to embroil them both in a series of assassinations. Because Dun-Cadal’s turncoat friends are being murdered, one by one… by someone who kills in the unmistakable style of an Imperial assassin…
There will be blood. There will be death. This is the path of anger…
We have 30 copies of Moon’s Artifice and 30 copies of The Path of Anger to send to some lucky Geeks for review. If you would like one, please reply to this email no later than midnight on Monday 11th November 2013, specifying your order of preference. We’ll pick 60 of you at random to each receive a copy of one of the books.
Everyone who sends back a review to us before the deadline we will set for the chosen Geeks will receive their exclusive Gollancz Geeks t-shirt, bookmark and badge by way of thanks. We reserve the right to publish your review on the Gollancz blog, but if you’d rather not go public then do let us know in your return email.
If you’d no longer like to be on Team Gollancz Geeks, simply reply to this email letting us know and we will remove you from the list.
Looking forward to hearing what you think!
