Amazing People: Bill Spangler to Guest at Great Allentown Comic Con

Amazing Stories blogger Bill Spangler will be one of the guests at a comics and pop culture convention in Southeastern Pennsylvania on July 12.

Spangler will be appearing at the Great Allentown Comic Con, at the Merchants Square Mall, in Allentown Pa. For more information about the convention, click here.

The featured guest at the convention will be actor/writer Nicholas Brendon. Best known for his betrayal of Xander Harris in the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Brendon is the co-writer of the current arc in the Buffy comic book published by Dark Horse. Buffy artist Rebekah Isaacs will also be appearing at the show.

Spangler, a veteran comics writer, is currently the co-author to the Robotech/Voltron comic from Dynamite Entertainment. Issue four of five-issue limited series is scheduled to come out July 9. He has written several other comics set in the Robotech universe, including The Malcontent Uprisings; Return to Macross and Invid War.

His other credits include original comics based on Tom Corbett, Space Cadet; Alien Nation and Quantum Leap, as well as the original characters Bloodwing and the Argonauts. His graphic novel adaptation of The Time Machine is scheduled to be reprinted later this year. He blogs about comics and graphic novels for Amazing Stories every other week.

Other featured guests at the Great Allentown Comic Con will be Power Rangers Austin St. John and Karan Ashley; artists Bob McLeod, Charles Paul Wilson III, Carol Kilbanks, Chris Flick and writer Bryan J.L. Glass.
