George R. R. Martin – Howard Waldrop’s Literary Champion

Yesterday, GRRM announced some happy news for fans of the author who helped give us such tales as The Texas-Israeli War: 1999 (off-beat AND a fine example of MilSF) and the previously translated to film short stories Mary-Margaret Road-Grader, Night of the Cooters and The Ugly Chickens, produced by GRRM and being shown around at film festivals.

A feature-length film of Howard Waldrop’s A Dozen Tough Jobs (based on the labours of Hercules), based on a script by Joe R. Landsdale (of which GRRM states “…no one could have done it better except maybe Howard His Own Self” is being produced.
