Okay, so I just can’t get into science without using my imagination. Maybe Einstein had me pegged from the beginning:
“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.” -Albert Einstein
That’s why I never quite rip Fantasy apart from Science Fiction. The fields of scientific void that outer space presents to us and in which we know nothing about makes room for our imagination. The age old question “what if” pops up in my mind. A phrase authors are told to use. A phrase I believe scientists also use to prove and disprove their theories. What if the world were round? What if something existed smaller than our eyes can see? What if…
So while we’re on that “what if” orbit here’s a thought:
Concerting Kepler 90 – that complete new solar system out in space discovered by NASA in affiliation with none other but Google. (Yes Google tracking isn’t satisfied with mapping the course to your front door, but it’s out in space letting Aliens know where you live, too!) Prepare for the space invasion on a personal level!
So here’s my thought.
What if there’s a huge mirror in space and our galaxy is traveling straight toward it? What if we’re just looking at ourselves spinning around our sun? What if Google can get so close to this new solar system that photographs of your own house show up on NASA images? What if, as our galaxy flies through space, we bump into this other galaxy…which is really ourselves…a mirror…and we create this shattering implosion? Breaking time, and reality. Would we destroy ourselves? Or find a portal to somewhere else?
I’m expecting one of you science fiction authors to answer these questions in your next best seller.
