Today’s reading is a selection from The Jaguar Queen of Copal by Brenda W. Clough, the third book in The Thrilling Adventures of Marian Halcombe series.
Brenda W. Clough spent much of her childhood overseas, courtesy of the U.S. government. She has lived in Laos, the Philippines, and Europe, and spent many years near Washington, DC.
Her first fantasy novel, The Crystal Crown, was published by DAW in 1984. Her novel How Like a God, now available from Book View Cafe, was published by Tor Books in 1997.
Her series of Victorian adventures, The Adventures of Marian Halcombe, appeared one a month in 2021.
She now lives in Oregon.
