New Releases in Science Fiction/Fantasy/Paranormal Romance for FEB 9

Here’s the weekly post from my author blog on the new releases I found to be of interest in my three favorite romance genres (which are also the ones I write in!), and related areas such as time travel, steampunk, paranormal cozy romances and more. I do sometimes cover other releases of note in science fiction and fantasy.

As always, I recommend sampling before you buy! I have not read most of the new releases listed (although I always end up one-clicking a bunch as I prepare these posts). I don’t pick up every single new release each week but try to provide a representative subset and lots of choices.

Here’s a teaser for this week’s first two books (jump to the blog to see the approximately 80+ titles featured this week):

A prisoner of love? In Genmate Forsaken (Genmate Dilemma 2) the line between love and hatred thins when Mysk discovers his genmate is a Xeno, his sworn enemy. Series description: A desire for vengeance keeps ’Topian Edwin Mysk from surrendering to the pain of the destruction of his home world and the loss of the genmate he might have had. One day the Xeno Consortium will know his wrath. Until then, he will pursue his self-imposed mission to locate and reunite the massacre survivors. When he lands on Laxiter 4, he finds the ’Topian settlement abandoned, except for a lone woman. Lala. Their immediate, intense bonding proves she’s his genmate, the one female his genetics have chosen for him—the one he’d believed lost forever. With Lala at his side, he resumes his search for the others. But Lala is not the ’Topian he thinks she is. She’s a shapeshifting Xeno, a disgraced former general in the consortium military wrongly convicted of helping ’Topian insurgents escape annihilation. Edwin Mysk offers her best chance to locate the escapees and receive a stay of execution—as long as he doesn’t discover her secret. Will the gulf between hatred and love, despair and desire, prove too wide for them to cross? Is their genmate bond a tragic mistake?

Aliens are real and they’re eager to Slake. What’s Slaking, you ask? It seems Xilan males go into a voracious heat period every three years, and there aren’t enough females to fulfill the needs of these beastly aliens. Enter me and other Earth females eager to have children. We travel to a space station, where we’re introduced to brawny alien males in dire need of Slaking. All systems are go until giant spider aliens overrun the station, determined to plant egg sacks within our bodies. No thanks. Me and a cocky alien space pirate, Brune, escape, but our shuttle is sucked into a wormhole and ejected into uncharted territory. Is it my fault the people on this planet believe I’m a goddess? They say I’m their savior. And they assure me they won’t roast Brune over the fire pit for dinner. Brune insists no one will eat him… He says we’ll escape and return to our world. He’ll satisfy his Slaking, and I’ll soon have a bundle of joy on the way. Shiver me timbers, but Brune is sweet, hot, and too damn appealing. I’m beginning to think we’re fated. As determined as I am to return to Earth, I’m not sure I can let my alien pirate go.
