Rebecca Sugar is an artist, composer and director who is best known for being a writer and storyboard artist on the series Adventure Time. Ian Jones-Quartey is a storyboard artist, animator and voice actor who supplies the voice of Wallow in Bravest Warriors. He has also served as a storyboard supervisor for Adventure Time and storyboard artist for Secret Mountain Fort Awesome and as art director for The Venture Bros.
My third interview at New York Comic-Con was with the book designer Colleen AF Venable, who has been designing the books published by First Second. Over her 4 year tenure, she has designed many award-winning graphic novels (some awarded for their design) and writes a children’s comic series.
My second interview at New York Comic-Con this past weekend was with the marvelously talented and sharp-tongued Lucy Knisley, who has recently released her memoir graphic novel contextualizing moments and developments in her life around her love of food, titled Relish: My Life in the Kitchen. We discussed her life in comics, future projects, and her views on the relationship between public and private that her work explores—all while cussing a decent amount.
Today we are joined by Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) Grand Master Robert Silverberg. Mr. Silverberg writes speculative fiction that travels where he wants it to go, pushing aside the traditional limitations with which many writers confine themselves. He has written countless novels and works of short fiction, and his list of non-fiction books is staggering. Mr. Silverberg has been so prolific that his total word count rivals the quantity of stars in the galaxy.
