Genre Colonization of Streaming Services Continues

FIFTY! percent penetration of films this week – IF you count “slasher” films as an approved member of the horror genre.  If not, genre loses the top slot and drops back to its seemingly customary level of thirty percent.  Go back a few decades and tell me when the last time genre was routinely occupying 30% of the film market.  I’ll wait.

When it comes to “television” (that word seems be getting less relevant with each passing week) – a steady 30 percent.  Odd man out is the relatively high placement of Rick & Morty.  Funny how shows that play with the genre always seem so popular.
