WINNERS: 1944 RETROSPECTIVE HUGO AWARDS

The Retrospective Hugo Awards were created to honor works produced during the years in which Worldcon has been held but had not yet begun to award the Hugos.

The “Retro” Hugos may be conducted at Worldcon’s held on the 50th, 75th and 100th anniversary years for Worldcons held prior to 1953 (and 1954 as no awards were given out).

Retro Hugos have been awarded for 1939 (the first Worldcon), 1941, 1943, 1944, 1946, 1951 and 1954; 1940, 1942, 1945, 1947, 1948, 1949, 1950 and 1952 remain to be “filled in”, in 2040, 2042, 2045, 2047-2050 and 2052 (going to be a long wait for some).
