FuturesPast Editions recently released the electronic edition of THE BEST OF AMAZING STORIES: THE 1940 ANTHOLOGY. The print version has now become available.
The 1940 Anthology was published out of sequence (FPE is producing one Best Of annual anthology for each year of the original magazine’s publication) in order to make works published in Amazing Stories in 1940 accessible to those who wish to nominate and vote on this year’s 1941 Retro Hugo Awards. (Hugo Awards, including the retrospective ones, are awarded to works from the preceding calendar year.)
Also currently available are THE BEST OF AMAZING STORIES: THE 1926 ANTHOLOGY; THE BEST OF AMAZING STORIES: THE 1927 ANTHOLOGY; a facsimile issue of the GIANT 35TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION of Amazing Stories (the April 1961 issue of the magazine), a full-sized facsimile edition of the May, 1944 issue and SEEDS OF LIFE by John Taine, the first in a series of novel length works that were serialized in the magazine and often not available anywhere until now.
All of these books come with the complete stories, excellent introductions to the era of publication and reproductions of all interior artwork that originally appeared in the magazine.
Note to consumers: the above publications are the only licensed and authorized uses of the Amazing Stories trademark for anthologies, collections, facsimile editions and themed collections. There is currently a company that is infringing our Trademark rights by publishing other, lower-quality publications using the Amazing Stories name AND mis-identifying itself by using our company name (The Experimenter Publishing Company). We are currently working with Amazon and other on-line sellers to have these infringing products removed from sale. In the meantime, please help to support us by only purchasing licensed and authorized editions.
