New Releases in Science Fiction/Fantasy/Paranormal Romance for FEB 11

I have a new release this week too!

Here’s the weekly post from my author blog on the new releases I found to be of interest in my three favorite romance genres (which are also the ones I write in!), and related areas such as time travel, steampunk, paranormal cozy romances and more. I do sometimes cover other releases of note in science fiction and fantasy.

As always, I recommend sampling before you buy! I have not read most of the new releases listed (although I always end up one-clicking a bunch as I prepare these posts). I don’t pick up every single new release each week but try to provide a representative subset and lots of choices.

Here’s a teaser for this week’s first two books (jump to the blog to see the approximately 75+ titles featured this week):

STAR CRUISE LUCKY CHARM by Veronica Scott

VS Note: This 35K word novella first appeared in the Pets in Space® 10 anthology, which is no longer available. I have added 1300 words relating to the MMC’s backstory but there are no other changes.

Dahlia Vale is a floater on the interstellar cruise liner Nebula Zephyr. She fills in wherever she’s needed and loves the life. She hopes she can land a permanent spot on the crew roster and she and her alien rescue pet Petal can secure their home aboard the ship. Then one night she gets called to take a waitress position in the casino and a high society guest decides she’s his lucky charm after winning huge at the roulette wheel by betting on her casual suggestion. Life becomes a whirlwind for Dahlia and she’s not sure she likes the attention. Fortunately her pet gave her a special token of good luck that she carries all the time. Casino Manager Mike Remington isn’t happy to have an unknown floater assigned to the casino on such a big night but he’s impressed with Dahlia despite himself. He wants to get to know her better which is a challenge since he’s the boss but maybe the way to her heart is to help find answers for her ailing pet. Amidst preparations for an upcoming gaming competition Mike finds time to spend with Dahlia. But he’s got everyone from the interstellar mob to the upper echelons of society on the ship to deal with. When Dahlia is endangered thanks to her reputation as a so-called ‘luck puller’ for the avaricious gamblers engaged in the championship games, she needs her own lucky charm and Mike’s help to avoid disaster. Can their growing attraction survive the chaos?

AQUATIC ENTANGLEMENT by Holly Hanzo

Marine biologist Cordelia never expected her research dive to end with her being sucked through an underwater vortex to an alien planet. She definitely didn’t expect to meet Olin, a powerful alien warrior who’s part man, part jellyfish, and all dominant male. With her oxygen running out and death seconds away, Cordelia faces an impossible choice: accept Olin’s claim as his mate, or die in the depths of an alien ocean. But survival comes with a price. Transformed to breathe underwater and bound to Olin by an unbreakable mate bond, Cordelia must navigate a society where humans are considered property and female submission isn’t optional – it’s survival. As she struggles to maintain her identity while adapting to Tiere customs, she discovers Olin is more than just the alien who claimed her. He’s patient, protective, and willing to challenge his own people’s traditions for her sake. When rivals threaten to tear them apart, Cordelia must choose between the independence she’s always valued and the mate who’s captured her heart.
