A Psalm For The Wild-Built by Becky Chambers is the 2022 Hugo Award winning novella.  It is a wonderful story. Dex, a non-binary monk, decides to give up their easy life in the city to become a Tea Monk. They travel the countryside in their wagon and provide a safe space for people to sit and drink tea and talk with the monk.  To discuss their worries and problems, or just be there with someone who will be there with them, and enjoy a cup of tea crafted just for them.  Dex becomes one of the best Tea Monks, but at some point is still not satisfied with their life. They decide to take a trip to an abandoned monastery in the wild. Along the way, they meet a robot and end up traveling together.

The most important part of the book, is the discussions between the Monk and the Robot. Discussing life, and meaning and other things. Trying to understand each other, and not succeeding, but not completely failing either. Coming to know them selves, not completely, but not completely failing either.

I really enjoyed this story, and heartily recommend it. One of the better books I’ve read this year.
