David – who reviews for Amazing Stories (25th Century Five and Dime) will be hosting me at 9 pm on his podcast Dickheads for a discussion on the collection of pulp magazines, which will feature some of the genre’s very first magazines, drawn from my V1N1 Collection* (Amazing Stories, Astounding Stories, Amazing Stories Annual, Science Wonder Quarterly, Science Fiction, Science Fiction Stories, Future Fiction and even up to Omni) as I share the first issues of magazines that would publish stories by Philip K. Dick (who is one of David’s passions).
This will include such rarities as the Australian magazine Selected Science Fiction, which featured Dick’s “Second Variety”, the story that would eventually be made into the film Scanners.
If you have never seen the inside of the magazine’s that gave our genre its start, you’ll want to tune in. 9 PM est – TONIGHT!
*V1N1 stands for Volume 1, Number 1. The collection focuses on the first issues of science fiction magazines.
