PRESS RELEASE

Jennifer Brozek’s New Epistolary Work “Dear Penpal, Belgium 1980”: A Unique Ghost Story Experience

Jennifer Brozek is set to launch her upcoming passion project, “Dear Penpal, Belgium 1980” on Kickstarter in March 2024. This middle grade-appropriate ghost story unfolds through a series of 24 physical letters, inviting readers into an immersive and personal narrative.

Rooted in her experiences of living in a 300-year-old manor house in Belgium, “Dear Penpal, Belgium 1980” follows a fictionalized ten-year-old Brozek. The letters, filled with tales of her adapting to life in a foreign country and forming an extraordinary friendship with a ghost, promise to captivate readers of all ages.

Supporters can opt to receive the full set of letters at once or enjoy the anticipation of bi-weekly deliveries, much like the classic penpal experience. Further enriching this journey, backers will have exclusive access to live group video calls with Brozek, where she will read her letters and share behind-the-scenes stories.

Jennifer Brozek is an award winning author, editor, and tie-in writer. A Secret Guide to Fighting Elder Gods, Never Let Me Sleep, and The Last Days of Salton Academy were all finalists for the Bram Stoker Award. She was awarded the Scribe Award for best tie-in Young Adult novel, The Nellus Academy Incident, and won an Australian Shadows Award for best edited publication.
