New Patreon Campaign for Amazing Stories Launches Today!

The Experimenter Publishing Company launches a new Patreon Campaign today and, it hastens to add, adds a new benefit for those Patrons who have been supporting the magazine for some time now.

EXISTING Patrons (those supporting Amazing Stories prior to 4/1/22) will be receiving the following:

Magazine Cover Mini Posters
&
Amazing Stories Lapel Pin

The Mini Posters feature the artwork for our first five covers, with art by Анмон Яковлев AKA Tony Sart, M. D. Jackson, Tom Barber, Yoko Matsuoka and Vincent DiFate.  Each is printed full color on heavy card stock and features an artist profile on the back, reminiscent of a “collector’s card”.

The Amazing Stories lapel pin is a 3D enameled rendering of our logo and retails for $15.00 – which we mention here because several of our Patreon Tiers feature the lapel pin as a reward.

New Patrons may be eligible for a lapel pin, depending upon the tier they select.

Tiers range in cost from $1.00 to $20.00 (per month) and include a variety of Patron Benefits, some of which are available here for the very first time, including:

“Legal Proceedings”, starting with a multi-part history and background and leading we know not where, yet, this monthly benefit chronicles our “adventures” with licensing the Amazing Stories name to the NBC/Universal Television corporation.

To tease just a little bit – things have not gone well.

This benefit is available to all tiers and begins with a long introduction that will be serialized for the first five days of the campaign.

If you want to know what really happened – sign on now!

Other benefits include a monthly newsletter offering advance notice of new publications and other happenings at the Experimenter Publishing Company (Inside Experimenter).  The first issue, available today, announces not one but TWO new book projects!  But you’ll have to sign on to find out more!

We are also offering other benefits to various tiers which include (but are not limited to):

Monthly FREE FICTION:  stories curated from Amazing Stories magazine and introduced by Jean-Marie Stine, editor of the Amazing Stories anthologies available from FuturesPastEditions (and from us as well);  you’ll get to read stories by Clare Winger Harris, Rog Phillips, Jerome Bixby, Frances Deegan, Amelia Reynolds Long and Edmond Hamilton (with more being added);

Electronic Background Art for PC, Tablet and Phones, all of them featuring the cover art of SF’s very first cover artist – Frank R. Paul.  Each image was created from high-resolution scans of the original covers  and then digitally edited, sharpened, focused and enhanced.  Three size ratios, at least one suitable for every device, are available for download.

To give you an idea:  here is a  copy of the October, 1926 cover and the Wallpaper version:

(we’re also going to re-issue our full-sized posters using the new enhanced versions – something you’ll find out more about in the Inside Experimenter monthly newsletter!

And we’re also republishing Hugo Gernsback’s first twelve editorials from the magazine along with commentary by the magazine’s current publisher.  A lot has changed since 1926…but a surprising amount has pretty much stayed the same as well.  If you want to gain some real insight into the magazine, the history of the development of the science fiction genre, its fandom and its community, a good place to start are the editorials by the man himself!

Below, a more practical description of the Tiers and their accompanying benefits.  We hope you’ll join and support us as we move forward into the future of Amazing Stories!
