Author Harry Machduff knows firsthand the rigors of spending hours upon hours on the road. As a young man, he followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming a truck driver. He spent a decade behind the wheel of a truck before leaving his post due to his health, and despite the long hauls, Machduff found a way to be entertained while traveling. Through his new book series, Humanities Struggle, Machduff seeks to offer other drivers a reprieve from the monotony of the drive. “I happily passed the time driving by listening to audio books,” Machduff said. “Since moving on, I have dreamed of giving back to anyone looking for entertainment while on the open road.”

In his first book in the series, Humanities Struggle: In Time and Space, Machduff introduces readers to Dr. Jason Harris and his family. Their life in Colorado is upended when Jason’s ex-wife Carla returns after disappearing 18 years earlier. Jason and Carla were both Navy Seals, and the pair was involved in several black-ops missions, including recovering possible alien AI artifacts. Their last assignment together was apprehending a Japanese general who was trying to develop a serum that could turn humans into superhuman soldiers. The mission went sideways, and the general escaped. Carla has returned to warn Jason that he and his new family are in grave danger.

Machduff plans to write five books in the series centered on the Harris family and their journey of trials and triumphs. “The characters in the book are continually thrown into unforgiving circumstances where their resilience is tested, but they will persevere in their resolve to make the world a better place,” Machduff explained.

Humanity’s Struggle is available for purchase online at Amazon.com.
