Artemis/SLS Launch Late This Evening

The first test launch for the Artemis flights, using a Space Launch Systems rocket deemed “the most powerful ever constructed” (and just marginally shorter than the legendary Saturn V) is scheduled for lift off at 1:04 AM, November 16th.

That’s “one o’clock in the morning tonight”.

Night launches are always spectacular.  This one should be more so as the light from its engines is nearly enough to resemble another sun appearing briefly in the sky.

Technical glitches prevented two previous launch attempts and there is no guarantee that such won’t happen again this time around (in fact, given the technical history of the rocket that most folks wonder why it’s still being developed, it is more than likely that the launch will be scrubbed at some point this time around).

Regardless, coverage can be found on NASA TV
