Here’s the weekly post from my author blog on the new releases I found to be of interest in my three favorite romance genres (which are also the ones I write in!), and related areas such as time travel, steampunk, paranormal cozy romances and more. I do sometimes cover other releases of note in science fiction and fantasy.
As always, I recommend sampling before you buy! I have not read most of the new releases listed (although I always end up one-clicking a bunch as I prepare these posts). I don’t pick up every single new release each week but try to provide a representative subset and lots of choices.
Here’s a teaser for this week’s first two books (jump to the blog to see the approximately 90+ titles featured this week):
DRAVOK BLOOD AND STARLIGHT (ARKHEVARI RISING BOOK TWO) by Bella Blair
NADINE – I used to believe in facts. In equations. In systems that behaved if you understood them well enough. Then I was taken by an alien god with shadows in his eyes and darkness stitched into his soul. Dravok. Warden of Shadows. Arkhevari. Immortal. He says I’m his Aelyth—his balance. The one thing anchoring him to sanity while the Dark Abyss whispers his name. I don’t believe in destiny or soulmates… but when he looks at me, the universe feels terrifyingly precise. Like I was always meant to stand exactly here. At his side, I see the truth the Arkhevari have buried for eons. A darkness not born of the Abyss—but feeding on them. A force that wants to turn gods into weapons and memory into annihilation. I should run. I should let the gods destroy each other and go back to my small, logical life. But Dravok is already woven into my every breath. And if loving him means standing between the universe and its end…Then I will. DRAVOK – I was forged to hunt lies, to walk unseen, to survive where others shattered. I have mastered shadow, deception, and control. I have never mastered myself. The darkness has always been there, patient, waiting for weakness. I believed it was my burden alone to carry. Until her. Nadine. Human. Fragile. Brilliant. Impossible. She saw what I am and did not turn away. When the Abyss tried to claim me…(more blurb on ebook seller’s page)
KYT (DARVERIUS, HOUSE OF DAR BOOK 20) by Jennifer Julie Miller
Vedece – I ran… didn’t know where to, didn’t care, but there had to be more than what I had settled for. Or that’s what I thought until I no longer trusted my own instincts or wants. Then, in another world, building a new life, I find my eye constantly seeking out the oddest, strangest man alive. He slips his way beneath all my defenses and asks for my trust, but will I allow myself this last chance? KyT – I have traveled to many worlds, searching for what others seem to find easily. I looked to the heavens because I was losing my faith, then she stepped off that shuttle, and I knew she was my future. My mate is like a wounded animal that you must approach gently. I know only time and consistency will break down the walls she has built around her heart, but then the world traps us together. Will she see past our differences and allow me to love her the way she deserves?
