Here’s the weekly post from my author blog on the new releases I found to be of interest in my three favorite romance genres (which are also the ones I write in!), and related areas such as time travel, steampunk, paranormal cozy romances and more. I do sometimes cover other releases of note in science fiction and fantasy.
As always, I recommend sampling before you buy! I have not read most of the new releases listed (although I always end up one-clicking a bunch as I prepare these posts). I don’t pick up every single new release each week but try to provide a representative subset and lots of choices.
Here’s a teaser for this week’s first two books (jump to the blog to see the approximately 75+ titles featured this week):
THE ORC’S MATE by Sheyla Drymon
Every two years, a woman was to be given as a “prize.” That was the deal humans had made with the inhabitants of that planet. Every two years, a woman’s life was the price to pay for the well-being of her people. And that year, she turned out to be the chosen one. Evelyn hated her life. Her father ignored her, her stepmother despised her, and she couldn’t find her place in the village. But what she never imagined was that her situation could get even worse. However, that is what happened when she was chosen as the next prize to be delivered to the fearsome orcs. Every two years… the “prize” would be delivered regardless of whether the woman cooperated or not. And when the day came when her “master” entered her life… nothing would ever be the same. Ragh’Gul lived for revenge. His Horde was massacred, and from then on, he was willing to do anything to destroy his enemy. Of course, the last thing he expected was a fragile human standing in his way. Would she be his salvation or his downfall?
ROMANCING THE CLONE (SUNRISE CANTINA BOOK THREE) by Ruby Dixon
Simone loves a good opportunity. When she sees that there’s a hole in the market on Risda III for a bakery, she steps in to fill the void. With a cart full of fresh baked goods, she rakes in the credits. Who cares if she doesn’t know the difference between a biscuit and a babka? She’s got hustle and a winning smile. Ruth-Ann cares. She cares a lot. It irritates her that Simone has a baked goods business…and that it’s succeeding. Does no one else see that Simone’s crusts are soggy? Her cookies as flat as pancakes? It bothers Ruth-Ann so much that she makes sure to point out to Simone everything she’s doing wrong. Daily. Simone despises Ruth-Ann and her know-it-all attitude. It’s mutual. Until the day Simone’s cart doesn’t show up to its usual spot and Ruth-Ann realizes that she cares about Simone more than she realized.
