Worldcon 76 in San José: The 76th World Science Fiction Convention
Hugo Voters Packets for both the 2018 Hugo Awards and the 1943 Retrospective Hugo Awards are now available for download.
The 2018 Hugo Voter Packet may be downloaded from https://www.worldcon76.org/hugo/packet.php
The 1943 Retro Hugo Voter Packet may be downloaded from https://www.worldcon76.org/hugo/retro_packet.php
You will need your name as registered, your member ID number and your Hugo PIN to access the files.
This download of materials from Hugo Award finalists is supplied free of charge as a courtesy by the creators and publishers of works that are nominated for the awards.
The purpose is to allow those who are voting on the Hugo Awards to be able to make an informed choice among the nominated works.
In some cases, the Retro-Hugo packet includes only a pointer to a location where the work can be found online. Not all works shortlisted for the 1943 Retrospective Hugo Awards appear in the Retro-Hugo Voter Packet due to challenges with obtaining rights to distribute them.
The voting period is now open, and will close on July 31, 2018PM PDT.
You can find all the details for this process on the Worldcon 76 website at www.worldcon76.org/hugos
The Hugo Awards are fan-run, fan-given, and fan-supported.
The details we have for you are as follows:
If you have difficulty with your Hugo PIN, please email hugopin@worldcon76.org. If you have difficulties accessing the online ballot(s), or you have more general
questions on the Hugo process, you can e-mail hugoadmin@worldcon76.org for assistance.
The Hugo Awards use an instant runoff ballot. To vote, mark your choices in each category in order of preference: “1” for first place, “2” for second place, and so on.
You are not required to rank all the finalists in any category, and we recommend that you not vote in any category where you are not familiar with a majority of the
finalists. If you decide not to vote in a given category, leave it blank.
Note that “No Award” is not an abstention; it means that you think none of the finalists should be given the award in question.
Thank you and we look forward to your participation in the 2018 Hugo and 1943 Retro Hugo processes.
Sincerely,
Dave McCarty
Hugo Award Administrator
