I was so excited to get back to some sense of normality, some travel to see friends and family, and to attend MCM Comic-Con in London. I hadn’t been able to attend – if they were even happening – since May 2019.
One glitch occurred as my camera worked for the morning but failed me for the afternoon. Luckily, one of my friends was attending, Donald Manning, who is an accomplished con photographer. I’ve used his photos previously from the Manchester MCM Comic Con, and when I saw his posts on Facebook after the convention, he gave me his permission to use some of his photos for my report. And the bonus is that you get to see a lot of the costumers/cosplayers from all three days of the con!
Onward and upward. The hosts of the con at MCM are always so welcoming, so very nice.
The people from Forbidden Planet always have a booth, this year they had book signings going on as well.
Lots of other vendors were in attendance, nearly everything one can imagine relating to most genres.
As are the men and women of the 501st (I’m going to be doing a separate article on the group and their purpose, exploits, etc. in the near future). That’s my best buddy in the back row, 4th from the right.
After wandering around the Excel Centre seeing what the vendors had to offer, I strolled outside to be greeted by a group of cosplayers doing the Macarena.
It was getting to be early afternoon already, and a good friend, Josh, met me for afternoon tea on the Sanborn Yacht at the Excel Centre. It was very posh – as the English say – and a delightful time. (That’s me on the left).
That was the last photo my camera took before it gave up the ghost. The rest of the images were provided by Donald Manning. Enjoy the parade of costumers and cosplayers!

You might recognize Harley Quinn from a previous article on TJC Cosplay.
The rest of Saturday’s attendees.
And Sunday wasn’t about to be outdone!
I guess there’s nothing left to do but put on the pink bunny ears hat and grab a burger. Until next time, keep on geeking!
