Here’s the weekly post from my author blog on the new releases I found to be of interest in my three favorite romance genres (which are also the ones I write in!), and related areas such as time travel, steampunk, paranormal cozy romances and more. I do sometimes cover other releases of note in science fiction and fantasy.
As always, I recommend sampling before you buy! I have not read most of the new releases listed (although I always end up one-clicking a bunch as I prepare these posts). I don’t pick up every single new release each week but try to provide a representative subset and lots of choices.
Here’s a teaser for this week’s first two books (jump to the blog to see the approximately 82+ titles featured this week):
VACATION WITH THE ALIEN GLADIATOR: A STEAMY MONSTER ROMANCE by Lara Roth
EDITH: I booked a budget Santorini getaway to hide from the pharmaceutical corporation that wants me dead. Instead, I got an €8,000-per-night villa, a mysterious owner with too many scars, and a gladiator blade that definitely isn’t a replica. Kaz says he can protect me. But when he kisses me like I’m his last breath, when his skin burns too hot and something moves beneath the surface—I realize I should be asking: protect me from what? The assassins hunting me? Or the monster I’m falling for? KAZ: For ninety-two years, I’ve been a weapon. A killer. A thing. Then Edith walks into my safe house with her sharp tongue and fearless eyes, and for the first time, I want to be a man. She doesn’t know I’m alien. That I shift into something with claws and armor. That my kind claims mates with a bite that bonds us forever. I should tell her the truth before I take her to my bed. But when assassins breach my sanctuary, when her blood hits my stone floors, when she looks at me and whispers “show me what you really are”—I’ll show her the monster. And then I’ll make her mine.
KOL’S HONOR (BARBARIANS OF THE DUST BOOK FOUR) by A G Wilde
To lead my clan is to stand between them and the harshness of the dust. Falling for the human female who matches my strength step for step is a danger I did not foresee. Kol – I am the Dra-dam. The survival of the clan is my only purpose. While my clan finds joy with the precious humans we rescued from the dust, I remain the shield that stands between them and the dark. I do not have the luxury of desire. Except Eh-rih-kah makes it impossible to look away. She is not just soft; she is steel. She lifts stone alongside my warriors. She meets my gaze without fear. She carries the weight of survival just as I do. Now, a rival clan circles our borders, testing our defenses. I must be the unshakeable leader my people need. But the dust has other plans. Because every time she stands her ground, the dormant fire under my skin flares to life. I am supposed to command this clan. Instead, I am consumed by a female who does not need my protection. But who I would burn the world down to keep. Erika – I didn’t ask to be abandoned on a planet that’s 90% sand and 10% impending doom. My goal is simple: keep my head down, do the work, and keep everyone alive until a rescue ship shows up. Unfortunately, my survival plan now involves Kol. He’s seven feet of golden muscle and terrifying intensity. He carries the safety of the entire group on his back, and for some reason, his amber eyes are always fixed on me. He’s not just a leader; he’s a force of nature. And he’s the only thing standing between us and the rival clan hunting in the dark. When the bond snaps into place, I expect him to be overbearing. I didn’t expect him to look at me like I am the only water in the desert. We’re about to find out what breaks first: the threat circling our caves, or my resistance to the alien warlord who has decided I am his.
