New Releases in Science Fiction/Fantasy/Paranormal Romance for DEC 10

I have a new release in my zombie series this week too!

Here’s the weekly post from my author blog on the new releases I found to be of interest in my three favorite romance genres (which are also the ones I write in!), and related areas such as time travel, steampunk, paranormal cozy romances and more. I do sometimes cover other releases of note in science fiction and fantasy.

As always, I recommend sampling before you buy! I have not read most of the new releases listed (although I always end up one-clicking a bunch as I prepare these posts). I don’t pick up every single new release each week but try to provide a representative subset and lots of choices.

Here’s a teaser for this week’s first two books (jump to the blog to see the approximately 88+ titles featured this week):

TAMSYN: A PLANET OF LAST RESORT NOVELLA by Veronica Scott

The story of one small town on a remote colony planet and the rising zombie apocalypse…Busy running her ranch outside Rosewater, Tamsyn Wendover doesn’t pay much attention to the goings-on in town. But when one of her ranch hands is bitten while trying to help a child, she’s drawn into the mysterious flu outbreak spreading over the planet. As the deadly flu worsens, striking the town and the ranch, the chaos intensifies and Tamsyn is drawn into the desperate fight for survival. Author’s Note: This 20K novella is a prequel to the events in book one, mostly occurring prior to the arrival of the main characters on the planet in ARRIVAL. There’s no romance in this novella although Tamsyn does meet the man she’ll fall in love with later as the story goes on in upcoming books. Tamsyn will be a continuing character in the adventures on the Planet of Last Resort.

DEFENDER (VERDANT STRING BOOK EIGHT) by Michelle Diener

Hunted, captured, taken off-planet . . .As a Special Forces Commander, Ethan Hyt is well aware his duty is to protect the Planetary Head of Defense, Velda Shanïha, but when their ship is shot down and they are taken prisoner, he finds it harder and harder to pretend he’s protecting Velda out of duty. Velda knows that as Aponi’s Head of Defense, she’s a good bargaining chip for her enemies, and she’s hoping that fact will keep her and Ethan alive. She and Ethan made a good team before, but their forced proximity has made their connection even stronger, and they’ll need each other to take every opportunity to get free. Because if they don’t, Velda’s afraid they’re going to disappear forever.
