New Releases in Science Fiction/Fantasy/Paranormal Romance for JULY 24

Here’s the weekly post from my author blog on the new releases I found to be of interest in my three favorite romance genres (which are also the ones I write in!), and related areas such as time travel, steampunk, paranormal cozy romances and more. I do sometimes cover other releases of note in science fiction and fantasy.

As always, I recommend sampling before you buy! I have not read most of the new releases listed (although I always end up one-clicking a bunch as I prepare these posts). I don’t pick up every single new release each week but try to provide a representative subset and lots of choices.

Here’s a teaser for this week’s first two books (jump to the blog to see the approximately 95+ titles featured this week):

DRIFT WOULD (DAUNTLESS CYBORGS BOOK TWO) by Cynthia Sax

VS Note: Always happy to have a new cyborg tale from Ms. Sax!

Drift is one of the best pilots in existence, and he has been assigned a perilous mission. The G Model cyborg must fly to a distant planet, locate the sector-destroying superweapon the enemy is projected to be developing there, and obliterate that threat to the universe. When Drift arrives at his destination and meets with an informant, he’s distracted by a mysterious human female seated in the shadows. She’s Drift’s genetic match, and she is the one being he’s destined to care for, claim, and protect. She’s also a liar and a thief. And she might be working with the enemy. Trusting her could kill him and everyone he cares about. Liar. Thief. Seductress. Saboteur. Roshini has been called all of those things. And she has earned each label. She’s done some terrible things to safeguard the beings she loves. A gray-eyed cyborg warrior with nimble hands and a shared need for speed won’t stop her high-risk activities.

She’ll sacrifice everything, including her lifespan, to complete her self-appointed top-secret assignment.

VERA AND THE VICTOR (ALIEN ABDUCTION BOOK 22) by Honey Phillips

A grumpy alien warrior, a rebellious almost-professor, and an alien paradise…One moment Vera is peacefully studying for her PhD in Ancient History, the next she is helping an alien race who look like fairies defeat the evil male who had her abducted. They need her help and she’s not about to back down, not even when a huge, grumpy gargoyle shows up on their island demanding their allegiance. Grabon went looking for a mate. Instead he found a rebellion. When he’s sent to crush one last lingering group of rebels, he discovers their leader is a female – a too smart, too pretty, and too passionate human female. He knows humans are trouble, and yet he can’t seem to resist the annoying little female. The temperature isn’t the only thing heating up in this alien paradise – but can there be possibly be a future for two people with such different goals?
