Here’s the weekly post from my author blog on the new releases I found to be of interest in my three favorite romance genres (which are also the ones I write in!), and related areas such as time travel, steampunk, paranormal cozy romances and more. I do sometimes cover other releases of note in science fiction and fantasy.
As always, I recommend sampling before you buy! I have not read most of the new releases listed (although I always end up one-clicking a bunch as I prepare these posts). I don’t pick up every single new release each week but try to provide a representative subset and lots of choices.
Here’s a teaser for this week’s first two books (jump to the blog to see the approximately 95+ titles featured this week):
PRISONER OF THE ALIEN PRINCE (ROGUE WARRIORS OF LORR BOOK THREE) by Celia Kyle and Anne Hale
It’s supposed to be another quick and easy job: steal the PulXar—an antique spaceship—and make gobs of money. That’s assuming nothing goes wrong. And of course, something always goes wrong. As a pirate, Willow Jackson has stolen hundreds of ships, if not thousands, but this ship is the first with someone on board. Trigg Lorrz, brother of the ship’s owner and son of the king of Lorr, a powerful alien race, is… her hostage? He also happens to be Willow’s one-night stand from the night before, the hottest lay she’s ever had, and pretty much the epitome of her type. But they’re both about to become hostages of Jorvlen attackers, who have a grudge against them both: Willow, for stealing massive amounts of currency, and Trigg—or rather Trigg’s brother—for snubbing a Jorvlen princess by choosing a human mate instead. They’re placed in the middle of one of the most diabolical trafficking rings in the galaxy. The ship where they’re taken hostage has a huge cache of the deadly drug Motley. Now, they have an opportunity to take down the evil Umbrosis Corporation if they can manage to stay alive long enough to intercept them and deliver them on a credit-plated platter. Their success or failure all depends on whether they can trust each other enough to work together and whether they can keep their hands off each other long enough to get the job done.
THE ALIEN AND I (COSMIC CINEMA) by Honey Phillips
Can an alien king lose his heart to a human woman? Adjusting to life on noisy, crowded Samar Prime is difficult for former professor Anna Lennox, particularly when she’s forced to spend too much time away from her young daughter. A teaching job on a peaceful tropical planet seems like an ideal alternative. But Thaima is not quite the paradise it appears to be, and her new employer, King Mongat, is the most arrogant, dangerous, infuriating male she’s ever met. Thaima has just been admitted to the Galactic Federation, but Mongat knows that admission does not mean acceptance. Determined to have Thaima take its rightful place in the Federation, he hires a teacher to introduce modern ways to the next generation of nobles. He doesn’t expect a smart, passionate female who is completely unimpressed by his rank and power. Anna and Mongat immediately clash, but their fiery encounters soon turn into unexpected passion. With the Federation questioning Thaima’s acceptance and Mongat tangled in royal obligations, can there be any future for this unlikely couple?
