New Releases in Science Fiction/Fantasy/Paranormal Romance for JAN 21

Here’s the weekly post from my author blog on the new releases I found to be of interest in my three favorite romance genres (which are also the ones I write in!), and related areas such as time travel, steampunk, paranormal cozy romances and more. I do sometimes cover other releases of note in science fiction and fantasy.

As always, I recommend sampling before you buy! I have not read most of the new releases listed (although I always end up one-clicking a bunch as I prepare these posts). I don’t pick up every single new release each week but try to provide a representative subset and lots of choices.

Here’s a teaser for this week’s first two books (jump to the blog to see the approximately 60+ titles featured this week):

EVADING MIRAN: HISSA WARRIOR SERIES BOK 10 by RK Munin

Sold to be an exotic attraction on a traveling entertainment ship, Novia Null grew up among other carnival workers. Even though she is a slave owned by the ship, she was cared for by her fellow acts and even considers a few to be her family. When several strangers show up to buy her, she’s prepared with an escape plan. There’s no way she or her “family” will let her be sold. What she doesn’t expect is for these strangers to keep chasing her. One of them proves to be more determined and resourceful than the rest. This Hissa named Miran might manage to catch her, but there’s no way he’ll be able to keep her. She’s much too cunning for him, or anyone, to hold her for long. Unless she wants to stay captured. The more time she spends around Miran, the more she questions the merits of escaping.

HOSTILE AWAKENING (ENEMY DEVOURED BOOK ONE) by E V Cross

I’ve been shot, stabbed, and tortured. I’ve held out through interrogations that broke better soldiers than me. None of that prepared me for the alien who killed everyone who tried to touch me. Name’s Lissa. Spec ops. Currently: screwed. Captured by the Thelvathi on a milk run gone sideways. Fine. I’ve trained for this. What I didn’t train for was my body deciding to betray everything I am—or for every warrior on this station to lose their minds trying to claim me. Fyzar was supposed to break me. Instead, he slaughtered his own people. Murdered the mentor who raised him. Committed treason for a human woman he’d known for three days. Now we’re running. Two governments want us dead. My body’s doing things I can’t control. And every time he gets close, I want things I shouldn’t. I’m a weapon. I don’t do feelings. Too bad nobody told him that.
