The Los Angeles Times has announced winners for their 40th annual Book Prizes.
Works of genre interest include Black Leopard, Red Wolf by Marlon James (Riverhead), which received the inaugural Ray Bradbury Prize for Science Fiction, Fantasy & Speculative Fiction, and The Old Drift by Namwali Serpell (Hogarth), which received the Art Seidenbaum Award for First Fiction. As previously announced, Walter Mosley received the 2019 Robert Kirsch Award for lifetime achievement.
Winners were announced via the Times’ Books Twitter feed on April 17, 2020, with video acceptance speeches on YouTube. For more information, including the complete list of winners, see the official website.
