Read Best Fan Writer Foz Meadow’s Post for Amazing Stories

One of our guest authors has won this year’s Best Fan Writer Hugo Award

Foz wrote this piece during the height of the Puppy Wars and was originally published by Black Gate magazine;  One of those named in the article objected to being referred to as a “Neo-Nazi” and threatened suit against the magazine.

Foz was offered an opportunity to change or withdraw the piece;  while she was deciding what to do, I became aware of the situation and offered space in Amazing Stories.  The article was withdrawan from Black Gate and subsequently published here.

(I make no judgement of Black Gate’s decision;  publishing is often faced with these kinds of decisions and which way one chooses to respond is often entangled in all kinds of intangibles.)

I’ve voted for Foz for Best Fan Writer ever since and am so proud to see that she has won.
