LepreCon is a general fan-run fantasy & science fiction (F&SF) convention (con), with an emphasis on art. LepreCon, Inc. is a 501(c)3 education non-profit organization, based in Phoenix, Arizona, U.S.A. and has been planning cons since 1975. Due to COVID-19, LepreCon 47 will be virtual from March 19-21, 2021 via Zoom.
Artist Guest of Honor (GoH): Jeffrey S. Veregge, an award-winning Native American artist & writer from the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe. He is best known for his use of form-line design with pop culture inpsiration which his fans dub “Salish Geek”. Veregge has drawn over 100 comic book covers for Marvel, Valiant, IDW, Dynamite, Boom! And Dark Horse Comics. Some of his cover work for Marvel includes Marvel’s Voices: Indigenous #1. He has been featured in multiple publications, including The Huffington Post, Fast Company Magazine, Wired Magazine (Germany) and Entertainment Weekly. Most recently he has agreed to create a large exit mural for Climate Pledge Arena, the future home of Seattle’s NHL Team: The Kraken.
Also participating will be Artist David Dace and Author Maxwell Alexander Drake. Dace is an illustrator, designer and writer, creator of Demon Blade and contributor to Heavy Metal Magazine #262. Drake is an award-winning F&SF author and graphic novelist who teaches creative writing at writers’ conferences and fan conventions all around the world, including Comic-Con International: San Diego and Gen Con.
Gregory Benford and Larry Niven will also be participating. They have coauthored a new novel published in 2020, entitled Glorious. Glorious is the 3rd in the Bowl of Heaven Series. Benford is a Multiple Award Winning Author; including the Hugo & Nebula. Niven is a Multiple Award Winning Author; including the Hugo and Nebula and Recipient of the Ditmar Award for best International SF – Australian.
FtM Musician Alexander James Adams and Author Evan Currie will also be participating. Alec will be doing a Filk Concert. A professional musician for over forty years he is the Chosen Heir to the music and legend of Heather Alexander. He performs her music, and his own with a style that goes beyond reality and into the imagined. Currie has authored more than 2 dozen books, including multiple series. Currie, a largely Independant author, is from Canada. A writer of space opera, military science fiction and techno-thriller novels, his books have been translated into Polish and German.
