If you are currently a member of Worldcon 75 (Helsinki) or were a member of MidAmeriCon II, then you are eligible to nominate for the 2017 Hugo Awards (which celebrate works from 2016).
If you weren’t a member last year and aren’t a member this year – this announcement should be your kick in the butt to get in gear and sign up!
You can read all about the Hugo Awards and the brand-spanking new anti-bloc voting measures voted into usage at last year’s WSFS Business Meeting here, on the Worldcon 75 website.
You can see the Business Meeting IN ACTION! here (warts, puppies and all).
You can learn more about the history of the award on its very own website…and more about the history of Worldcon and the World Science Fiction Society (of which you all should be paid up members) here on its very own website.
And I would be doing a disservice to our contributors if I failed to mention that they are each individually eligible for various award categories including Best Short Story, Best Related, Best Artist (fan and pro), Best Editor Short Form and probably several others, not to mention that Amazing Stories itself is eligible for Best Semi-Prozine (as we paid for fiction this year, taking us out of the fanzine category).
