Get Well, Harlan

It was reported on Sunday that Harlan Ellison suffered a stroke on October 9th. He is well and recovering.

Various and sundry SF news sites began publishing a short notice from Harlan Ellison’s wife Susan that on Thursday, October 9th, Harlan suffered a stroke.

He is currently in hospital and apparently doing well.

Amazing Stories hopes for a speedy and full recovery;  love him or hate him, Harlan Ellison is a foundational resource of the genre.

Reporting from Friends of Harlan indicate that he is doing well.


Our Harlan collage features Harlan himself in a bit role on Babylon 5, and as a cartoon on Scooby Doo Where Are You?, and as a mutant in The Discarded, a Masters of Science Fiction episode;  two scenes from the Star Trek Episode The CIty On the Edge Of Forever, Robert Culp in Demon With A Glass Hand, Qarlo from Soldier, James Caan in Memo From Purgatory, Don Johnson in A Boy and His Dog, as well as scenes from The Twilight Zone, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and Ripcord episodes he penned.  They were chosen with an eye towards expressing the emotions we felt when hearing this news.
