Ever Wanted to Create Your Own Superhero?

Superheroes-600

Well an online TV service here in the UK is offering sci-fi fans the chance to see their character come to life. When I was sent this information, it wasn’t just something I wanted to share with my fellow Amazing Stories members, but something I may actually have to enter myself.

To celebrate the autumn streaming releases of Avengers Assemble, The Dark Knight Rises and The Amazing Spider-Man, Now TV has created a competition to give budding artists and superhero fans a chance to bring their own characters to life in a professional short animation.

All entires are uploaded to the dedicated website www.nowtvsuperheroes.co.uk along with a few vital stats on the super powers and weaknesses. All artwork is going to be displayed in a Facebook gallery and the top three with the most likes will be made into a short animation which will premiere on NOW TV’s YouTube channel. Don’t worry if your drawing skills aren’t up to scratch. The first 500 people to sign up to a free NOW TV trial through the competition will receive a free custom-made t-shirt of their superhero.

The competition runs until the 9 October. For those of you not in the UK, what would your superhero look like and what powers/weaknesses would they have?

  1. The source of the interesting story in the example of Baby Cthulhu would not be the super hero itself, but in its followers, acolytes, and sidekicks. For simply to serve Baby Cthulhu is a weakness in itself, a fatal, moral flaw for mere mortals.

Hmm, which reminds me… if Baby Cthulhu is the super hero… who or what would be a suitable villain to oppose him? Hmmm…
