Darren Slade

Darren Slade 250x250Darren Slade is a journalist, writer and occasional film reviewer.

He was interested in genre films and television from an early age, but life changed forever in February 1978 when Star Wars was released in the UK regions.

He runs a blog, Episode Nothing: Star Warsin the 1970s, devoted to discussion of that film, before it was Episode IV of anything – when it was just “the story of a boy, a girl and the universe”.

His other genre passions include British horror films from the Hammer and Amicus era, while his more respectable enthusiasms include the work of Alfred Hitchcock and Orson Welles. He was co-author with Nigel Watson of Supernatural Spielberg in 1993.

By day, he is a news journalist who has managed to extend his job remit to include interviews with genre figures including Gary Kurtz, Dave Prowse and George Takei.
