ARCHIPELACON. The Nordic SF & Fantasy Convention – June 25–28, 2015
I am writing this article two weeks early because on Thursday the 25 I will be travelling to the Aland Islands to participate in Archipelacon.
After loosing the race for Worldcon in 2015, the Finns have decided to host their own big event (that is call to have Sisu) instead to host Finncon and the relaxing Acon.
The guests of honor are George R.R. Martin (Yes, THE George R.R. Martin) Johanna Sinisalo from Finland and Karin Tidbeck from Sweden. There is also an academic guest of honor, Gary K. Wolfe and a fan guest of honor, Parris Mcbride.
Most of the program will be in English with conferences, panels, readings, workshops and a masquerade party, a fantasy flea market and of course the academic program.
I have one reading, one conference (Latin American Science Fiction and Fantasy, of course) and two panels. Besides that I will be helping the University of Helsinki’s Science Fiction Club. I will also be listening to the panel about Science Fiction and Sex, because I want to know more about the mysterious Peruvian writer Nastia T.
Next week: photos and more.
ARCHIPELACON.
