  1. I regard virtually all “moral gestures” as attempts to bully and dominate. As two philosophers put it, “There are no moral phenomenon, only moral interpretations of phenomenon” and “a claim to truth is a claim to power, neither more nor less”.

    And in a social sense, they’re also attempts to personally demonstrate “virtue” as a signal of group identity.

    In no case are they to be taken seriously on their own terms.

    So yeah, let’s put Roman Polanski in jail, if we can catch him — and watch his movies with innocent calm.
