I came across this video from Nerdforge on Facebook.
Nerforge self-describes as: “YouTubers making fantasy art & crafts videos”.
And they refer to the project highlighted here as one of the “dumbest”projects they’ve ever attempted:
Making one single (print) book from the entire Wheel of Time series.
For those who are not familiar with Jordan’s serial doorstopping, WoT comprises some 14 books with a total page count (in hardback format) of nearly 10,200 pages.

This post caught my attention because it exemplifies an aspect of Fandom that seldom gets attention: the willingness to invest time, money, passion and creativity while simultaneously throwing caution, sensibility and conventional thinking to the winds in pursuit of a “dumb, crazy, idea”. Why? Just because. Just because it IS crazy. Just because we’ll never know unless we try. Just because we don’t care what others may think. Just because we don’t worry about things like “what’s it for?; What purpose does it serve? How will you make money doing this?”. Those things are NOT the point.
Magic happens off the beaten path. This is a prime example.
