Happy 100th Birthday, Ray Bradbury!

Today marks the Centennial of the birth of Ray Bradbury, author of The Illustrated Man, Farenheit 451, The Martian Chronicles, the script for Moby Dick, appearances on his titular television show and much personal-fannish interaction.

Ray started out as a fan and ultimately became the “poet laureate” of our genre(s).

File770 has an excellent round up of events here.

If you would like a physical memento of the event, you can find no better than The First Fandom Experience’s The Earliest Bradbury.

And later on today, right here on Amazing Stories, you can read his Retro Hugo Award winning story I, Rocket.

Happy Birthday, Ray, we miss you terribly and wish you could be here with us to celebrate this day!
