The Three Factions of Fandom: “the SFF world is liberal and welcoming as long as there are only a handful of women, writers of colour, LGBT writers and other marginalised people. As soon, however, as the numbers begin to rise to the point that straight white men feel squeezed out, the backlash will begin.”

PRESS RELEASES & NEWSLETTERS

The Krypton Radio newsletter ROCKS FROM SPACE is back, direct to your inbox! Here is a taste of this week’s doings on the Krypton Radio web site.

This coming weekend, we have a special guest on The Event Horizon this Saturday at 9 pm Pacific / Midnight Eastern, and again on Sunday at 4 pm Pacific / 7 pm Eastern:  it’s none other than the Boy Wonder himself, Burt Ward!

We’re also redesigning our line of t-shirts, and since we’ve found a great new supplier we can offer the same quality shirts (maybe even better!) at literally half the price. If you’re a patron, though (see the link toward the bottom of this email), you’ll be able to get any of our designs at our cost.

Another thing that’s happened is that our free player apps (there’s one for literally every smart phone and tablet, no matter the brand or operating system) now account for something around 10% of our listening audience! People are starting to figure out that you can take Krypton Radio with you wherever you go, and it is Awesome.

We think so, anyway. But we’re biased.

We’re making science fiction fandom history, and you’re a part of it.

Remember to tune in to Krypton Radio every day – it’s Sci-Fi for your Wifi.

Hello, Mythgardians and Signum Friends!

We are pleased to announce that the third annual MidMoot is just around the corner. From the 24th to the 25th of September 2016, fans and scholars of imaginative fiction will be gathering on the University of Maryland campus to hear from top-notch speakers and enjoy lively discussion and camaraderie.

MidMoot is delighted to have Dr. Corey Olsen, Dr. Verlyn Flieger, and Dr. Janet Croft as our Guests of Honour. We also have an excellent lineup of fan-based and academic presentations, including presentations from your very own classmates and friends from Mythgard and Signum!

The best part is that you can still attend! For more information and to register, visit our MidMoot pages at Signum and Mythgard. On those pages you will also find a downloadable flyer, conference schedule, recommended accommodations, and list of presentations. Remember, space is limited, so we encourage you to register soon. For the banquet, you must register by September 16 in order to attend.
