Taral Wayne, long time fan, winner of the Rotsler Award and a former Worldcon Fan GoH, has sold his first story to The Yellow Booke, a yearly publication of… newstyle tales, if you will — weird fiction, ghost stories, and horror.
Readers of Amazing Stories may be familiar with Taral’s work through the two stories of his that we published – The Name Badge and Fly on the Wall – which may seem to contradict the nature of the claim to first sale, but then Taral isn’t sure if his new story – The Canaries in the Dark – is actually a sale either, as his payment is represented in access to Oldstyle Tales Press‘ publications in perpetuity, and not cold, hard cash. (Amazing Stories didn’t pay him either.)
Regardless, we’re very happy to see Taral’s work reaching a new market and urge you to take a look at Canaries and the other short fiction in The Yellow Booke Volume 2, which can be read for free or collected here.
And of course you can read more about Taral here.
