What An Un-eventful S.H.I.E.L.D. Season Ending

agentsofshield_finale_furyMarvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. finally got exciting over the last few episodes, pretty much since the Captain America: The Winter Soldier crossover, and I think this is clearly why the show got renewed. With Samuel L. Jackson on board for the season finale, revealing to the team that he is still alive I thought this episode was going to be dramatic and amazing. However, it was a so-so episode, mainly due to the obvious plot reveals. Fitz and Simmons are trapped underwater, Fitz has set off an alert, but realised it’s a S.H.I.E.L.D. tracker and no one is monitoring that. On seeing Jackson’s name in the credits it was clear that he would of course arrive just in time to rescue them, and of course help Coulson right when he needs him. But what he has with him is pretty cool. Coulson’s gun that he used on Loki in Avengers, nice to see Coulson back with that and still alive afterwards.

After all of the extreme shocks and edge of the seat drama over recent weeks, this season finale was epic, but nothing compared to the previous episodes. However, I will miss my weekly update from S.H.I.E.L.D. and look forward to the show’s return in September.
