Friday Fanzine: Prime Materials from Rogers Cadenhead

Rogers Cadenhead is one of those fans and fanzine editors who prove the maxim that ‘fans are everywhere and do everything’.  (We really are and we really do.  Maybe we need some kind of secret handshake….)

Rogers – in addition to performing important work with a genzine titled Prime Materials that you can read below and recruiting for the Alarums and Excursions APA: “A&E is a laser-printed monthly roleplaying game APA (amateur press association) with contributors from across the US, UK, and Canada. It won Origins Awards in 1985, 2000, 2001, and 2002″) that anyone is welcome to join, many more details right here, Rogers has written numerous books on JAVA and other computer subjects for several publishers.

He is also a founder of the Drudge Retort, a liberal alternative to the Drudge Report news aggregator website, having registered the name Drudge.com when Matt Drudge failed to do so;  he also registered benedictxvi.com shortly before the new Pope took his name (that site was donated to charity when the Vatican failed to meet Rogers requests for a Miter and unconditional absolution for the third week of March, 1987.

It’s not been all fun and games for Mr. Cadenhead though:  the AP issued him several DMCA take-down notices for reproducing a sentence or two from AP reports.  The press organization has since changed its policy…which marks Rogers as not only a producer of excellent (if sometimes short) fanzines, but also a fighter for truth, justice and a little comedy along the way.

Today we take a look at Prime Materials #6, April 2014, an issue devoted to gaming and the re-release of older games, as well as Locs.  You can find Prime Materials on eFanzines.com, along with several other titles by Rogers Cadenhead.
