From File770 we learn that Vulcan is in the lead for the naming of one of Pluto’s newly identified moons.

Someone posted the following video to Facebook:  my notes on who are apparently lost, but if the person who did want’s credit, get in touch.

I think a lot of us could substitute ‘writing’ for ‘reading’ and it would be just as appropriate.

Our own Duane Spurlock’s illustrations are featured in a new Indiegogo crowd-funding project for a graphic story anthology.

(Don’t interrupt him, he’s illustrating a book….)

Jeff and Ann Vandermeer’s Time Traveler’s Almanac anthology is now open to submission (previously published works only).

SF Signal reports on a lawsuit covered in Publisher’s Weekly;  several indie bookstores are now suing Amazon and the Big 6 Publishers over DRM in e-books.  Seems that the government’s settlement with the publishers may have inadvertently created an unfair practices situation for independent book sellers.  (Ed. Note:  ALL of these issues would go away if the Fed was willing to recognize that Amazon has been and continues to engage in monopolistic practices, even if the company doesn’t meet the on-books definition of a monopoly.)

Saturn Award Nominees Announced:

The Hobbit, Life of Pi and Skyfall lead the cinematic pack.
